Lake Union Boats Afloat Show

34th Annual Show Opens Wednesday, September 12th, 2012

SEATTLE, July 3, 2012 -- Seattle's 34th annual Lake Union Boats Afloat Show gets underway on Wednesday September 12th and continues through Sunday 16th, 2012. It brings you all the best of boating in one place on beautiful South Lake Union in sunny September. The show is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 10am to 6 p.m. weekends.

More boats, more styles, more fun
From sport boats to sailboats, trawlers to mega yachts and everything in between the West Coast’s largest floating boat show has it all!  More than 50 distinct brands of yachts and 50 brokers and dealers from Washington, Oregon, California, Florida and British Columbia, Canada will display their yachts. Yachts represented will include Ocean Alexander, Selene, Westport, Kadey Krogen, American Tug, Regal, Jeanneau, Navigator, Hunter, Catalina, Riviera, Sea Ray and many more.  Some 50 shore side exhibitors with professional services from marine finance and insurance to electronics, marinas, shipping, yacht linens and yacht maintenance will also exhibit at the show.

New for 2012: extended weeknight hours and Boater’s Happy Hour. 
Weekdays the show will now be open an extra hour, so come on down after work. Boater’s Happy Hour is 5-7pm and tickets are half price. Just $6! There will also be a Floating Beer Garden.

BOATS OF NOTE

Aspen Power Catamarans (http://www.aspenpowercatamarans.com/) will be displaying their 28 foot C90 Cruiser. It's the world's most efficient and noise free cruiser in this class and was built in partnership with Nordic Tugs. The engine is the new Volvo D3 engine with electronic controls which runs at a much lower rpm while developing the same horsepower.  

Bellingham Yachts (www.bellinghamyachts.com) will be showing the Sabre 42 Salon Express. This is a West Coast debut for this boat. Built in South Casco, Maine by one of the premier boat builders in the United States, it hosts a wide range of new technology including twin Cummins Zeus Pods with joy stick control and “sky hook” station keeping.

Coastal Craft Boats (www.CoastalCraft.com) will have hull number 1 of the Coastal Craft 560IPS. It is a U.S. debut for the boat. The enclosed, heated back deck makes it the perfect boat for NW boating.  Other features include Flir Night Vision, four helm stations and a lithium “Hybrid” electrical system.

Crow’s Nest Yachts (http://crowsnestyachts.com/) will be displaying two brand new Westcoast Custom Yachts: a 62’ Custom Pilothouse and a 64’ Custom Express Cruiser that has full accommodations with three staterooms and three heads

Hidden Harbor Yachts (http://www.hiddenharboryachts.com will have the fastest boat in the show, With twin 450 Yanmar diesel engines and twin Arnison surface piercing drives the 45 Phantom cruises comfortably at 40 to 50 mph and can reach a top speed in the high sixties. She would serve well as a fast commuter, fast fishing boat (it comes equipped with two live wells), or a fun boat to cruise in with family and friends.

Kadey-Krogen Yachts  http://www.kadeykrogen.com  will have their new Krogen 52 at the show.  It has won two People’s Choice Awards in a row at Trawler Fests. Hull #04 will be on display and is very different in appointment from other Krogen52s so will provide a fresh viewpoint for those who have previously boarded other Krogen 52s. 

Lake Union Sea Ray (http://www.lakeunionsearay.com/) plans to include the all-new Boston Whaler 315 Conquest Pilot House in the show. This will be the first one on the West Coast. The boat features a fully enclosed helm with bulkhead on an entirely new model. 

Seattle Boat Company will feature 2013 Malibus and Cobalts, including Malibu’s 30th anniversary limited edition 23 LSV with the new revolutionary “Surf Gate” system and Cobalt’s all new 24 SD and R5 models

The 2012 Lake Union Boats Afloat Shop is presented by Sunbrella, the leader in performance fabrics. Visitors to the show can tour the Galatea, a sailboat made-over using all Sunbrella fabrics above and below deck.
