More Than 160 Spectacular Power and Sailing Craft, Shoreside Fun at the Fall Boats Afloat Show September 14-17 at Seattle’s South Lake Union

The show’s biggest line-up of luxury boats in more than a decade

SEATTLE, WA (August 31, 2023) – The Fall Boats Afloat Show docks at Seattle’s South Lake Union September 14-17, spotlighting the show’s biggest line-up of luxury and performance craft in more than a decade. With more than 160 boats on display this world-class fleet spotlights power and sailing yachts, high performance craft, quality shoreside exhibitors and a packed line-up of activities for the entire family. A boating tradition since 1978, the show is a “go-to” opportunity to learn, dream and explore the latest boating lifestyle and technology trends.  

Presented by the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association (NYBA) the show is a festival of Northwest boating and features scores of high quality shoreside exhibitors, family-friendly activities (the show is free for children 12 and under), tasty dining options, beverage choices and live music performances by top local jazz talent.

New this year, “Women’s Day” on Thursday, September 14th celebrates women’s growing involvement in boating.  Women can purchase discounted tickets – $10 online or $11 at the door.

Making its debut as the show’s non-profit partner, Salmon for Soldiers (salmonforsoldiers.com) provides free fishing activities for veterans and active-duty military personnel with a mission to reduce stress and create new relationships through boating and fishing. The Puget Sound-based organization will provide information and resources each day and showgoers will have an opportunity show their support by purchasing raffle tickets for a variety of prizes, with all proceeds benefiting Salmon for Soldiers.

For those exploring boating opportunities, the Seattle Sailing Club will offer two 3-hour “Intro

to Sailing” courses aboard 35’ keelboats each day of the show. Advance registration ($50) is required, which includes admission to the show and other benefits. Seattle Sailing Club will also provide free sailboat rides, limited to occupancy, Thursday and Friday (September 14-15), 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday (September 16), 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday (September 17), 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For youngsters, the Center for Wooden Boats is offering free workshops Saturday and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. where kids can build their own toy boats to take home, with all the materials provided.

Top local musicians bring their talents to the Music Stage each day, including Doug Rusk (Thursday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.); Stanley Alleyne (Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.); Ballard High School Jazz Quartet (Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.); The Wednesday Club (Saturday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.); Ballard High School Jazz Quartet (Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Saint John & The Revelations (Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.).

While strolling the docks showgoers’ tastebuds will be tantalized by the Five Hooks Seafood’s award-winning seafood tacos, hand-cut fish and chips and more. Dog in the Park, the originator of the famed “Seattle Dog,” features a selection of hot dog options while the U Café Coffee Cart will serve up lattes and treats. Powered by Party on the Rocks, a full bar “on the dock” will include craft cocktails, beers and wine.

Encompassing distinctive designs, elegance and performance, the four-day boating showcase is an opportunity to explore some of the region’s largest motor yachts, impressive sailboat offerings, luxury cruising/fishing models, high-end cruisers ideal for Northwest waters and much more. Quality exhibitors will spotlight innovations in boating technology, accessories and marine services.
